Artist's model of what the Jon Egging memorial could look like.

Red Arrows pilot Jon Egging died at last year's Air Festival.

Planning approval's been granted for a five-metre high memorial to Jon Egging in Bournemouth.

The monument for the Red Arrows pilot who died during Bournemouth Air Festival last year, was partly designed by children at Kinson Primary School.

A competition was held for a winning design, which was selected by Jon's widow and his mother.

The memorial, which will be on East Overcliff Drive, will be in place in time for this summer's Air Festival.
